The Defect channels elemental Orbs — Lightning (damage), Frost (block), Dark (accumulating damage), and Plasma (energy) — that provide passive effects each turn. The key to Defect is Focus, which amplifies all orb effects. Proper orb slot management and Focus stacking elevates Defect from mediocre to game-breaking.
Channel Lightning for passive damage, Frost for passive block, Dark for accumulating burst damage, and Plasma for energy. Evoke orbs with Dualcast or Multicast for powerful burst effects. Aim for 5+ orb slots.
Focus is Defect's most important stat — it increases all orb effectiveness. Stack Focus with Defragment, Biased Cognition + artifact source (Core Surge/Orange Pellets), or Consume + Capacitor.
Defect has the strongest Power cards. Creative AI generates Powers each turn. Echo Form doubles your first card each turn. Storm channels Lightning whenever you play a Power — build your entire strategy around it.
Channel Frost orbs and stack Focus for massive passive block each turn. Glacier is your best card — 2 Frost orbs + block in one package. Biased Cognition + artifact gives permanent Focus. At high Focus, you are nearly unkillable.
Channel multiple Lightning orbs for passive AoE damage. Electrodynamics makes Lightning hit ALL enemies — mandatory for AoE fights. Storm generates Lightning on every Power play. Tempest channels X Lightning orbs for energy dump turns.
Spam 0-cost attacks with Claw scaling — each Claw played increases all future Claw damage. All for One recycles your entire discard pile. Scrape draws 0-cost cards. High-risk but incredibly fun when it pops off.
