STS2 Weekly Meta Report: v0.107.0 (June 2 β€” June 8, 2026)

πŸ“Š Meta Report Β· Updated Jun 9, 2026 Β· 6 min read Β· Week 24 of EA

Welcome to the STS2Guides Weekly Meta Report. This week's headline: v0.107.0 beta dropped on June 4 β€” a "stability-first" patch with 5 card buffs, an Aeonglass rework, and 20+ bug fixes. Necrobinder got two buffs (Sic 'Em, The Scythe), Regent got a mixed bag (Monarch's Gaze buff, Reflect nerf), and Aeonglass lost Ebb debuff entirely β€” a major change for Act 3 boss routing. STS2 Speedrun Marathon (June 7) saw sub-8-minute A0 clears. Next up: Mega Crit Developer Stream on June 10.

Biggest Meta Shifts This Week

1. Aeonglass Loses Ebb β€” Act 3 Just Got Easier

The single biggest v0.107.0 change: Aeonglass no longer applies Ebb (-1 Strength / -1 Temp HP). For Ironclad Strength builds and Silent Shiv spam, this is a huge buff β€” they no longer lose scaling every turn. Aeonglass now gains Block on its Ebb action instead, which is less punishing. Overall Act 3 boss difficulty dropped ~15%.

Community sentiment: "Aeonglass is now fair" β€” top Reddit post with 920 upvotes. Crystal Armor still strong, but the Ebb removal makes the fight feel beatable for all builds.

2. Regent Energy Problem Partially Solved

Monarch's Gaze dropping from 3β†’2 cost is deceptively huge. At 2 energy, it now competes directly with premium Regent picks and slots naturally into early-game curves. Combined with the existing Parry buff from v0.106, Regent is finally breaking out of the 8% WR basement. The Reflect nerf (16β†’15 block) is negligible.

3. Necrobinder Double-Buffed, Doom Still Untouched

Sic 'Em (2β†’3 summons) and The Scythe (3β†’4 dmg) are both nice, but neither changes Necrobinder's core identity. The real story: Doom Execute survived another patch. At 22.8% A20 WR, Necrobinder widens its lead. Community increasingly expects a Doom nerf in v0.108.0.

4. Speedrun Marathon Proves Ironclad Speed

The June 7 community event saw A0 Ironclad clears under 8 minutes β€” fastest of any character. Exhaust Engine's linear scaling makes it the speedrun king. Necrobinder won the most categories overall (A0, A10, A20) but was consistently slower per-run.

This Week's Biggest Story: v0.107.0 Drops β€” Stability Over Balance

On June 4, Mega Crit released v0.107.0 beta β€” deliberately smaller than previous patches. The stated goal: "lay the groundwork for moving the beta branch to main." Key highlights:

v0.107.0: What Changed & What Didn't

πŸ“’ v0.107.0 arrived June 4 (beta): A smaller, stability-focused patch β€” deliberately not the meta shake-up many predicted. The real story is what didn't get nerfed: Doom, Exhaust Engine, and Sly Discard all survived untouched. Mega Crit is saving balance changes for v0.108.0.
πŸ’‘ Pro Tip β€” Meta Chasing: Don't chase the meta blindly. Necrobinder Doom is strong, but if you've never played Necrobinder, you'll lose more runs learning the character than you'd gain from the "OP" build. Play what you know β€” Ironclad Exhaust and Silent Poison are still S-Tier and more forgiving for intermediate players.
