Necrobinder Summon Build: Flood the Spire with Skeleton Army
The Summon Army build transforms the Necrobinder into an overwhelming force. By filling the board with Skeletons, Ghosts, and Abominations, you create a wall of minions that tank damage, deal passive damage every turn, and generate massive Soul stacks for devastating finishers. When the build comes together, you barely need to play block cards — your minions handle everything.
How It Works
The core loop has three phases:
- Build Your Army — Summon minions to fill all 4 board slots. Skeletons taunt (enemies target them first), Ghosts deal passive damage each turn, Abominations hit hard.
- Buff Your Army — Play Undead Commander to give all minions +HP and +damage. Your skeletons become tanky, your ghosts become dangerous.
- Overwhelm — Let your minions handle defense and chip damage. Use accumulated Souls for Soul Nova as a finisher.
💀 The Perfect Opening
Turn 1: Play Mass Grave (summon 3 Skeletons) + Undead Commander (buff all).
Turn 2: Add Ghost Form for passive damage. Your board is now full with 3 tanks and 1 DPS.
Turn 3+: Replace fallen minions, use Dark Offering to cycle, accumulate Souls. Finish with Soul Nova.
Core Cards
Must-Have (S-Tier)
- Mass Grave — Summon 3 Skeletons at once. This instantly fills most of your board and provides massive defense value. The single most efficient summon card.
- Undead Commander — ALL minions gain +3-5 HP and +2-3 damage. This turns your fragile Skeletons into real threats. Play this as early as possible.
- Soul Nova — Spend all Souls for massive AoE damage. At 5+ Souls, this clears rooms. At 10+ Souls, it one-shots bosses.
- Bone Legion — Summon 2 Skeletons with bonus HP. Reliable, efficient board filler.
Strong Support (A-Tier)
- Dark Offering — Sacrifice a minion for card draw and energy. Use this on a low-HP Skeleton that's about to die anyway.
- Graveyard Shift — Resurrect a minion that died this combat. Excellent value when your buffed minions fall.
- Ghost Form — Passive 4-6 damage per turn. Great for chip damage while your Skeletons tank.
- Soul Harvest — Gain Souls whenever a minion dies. Makes your inevitable losses into resources.
- Soul Drain — Basic sacrifice for Soul generation. Use on Skeletons at 1 HP.
Board Management Fundamentals
Managing your 4 minion slots is the key skill for this build:
- Slot 1-2: Skeletons (taunt, absorb hits) — keep at least 1 alive at all times.
- Slot 3: Ghost (passive damage) — position behind taunt minions.
- Slot 4: Flex slot — another Skeleton for defense, or Abomination for damage.
When a skeleton is at 1-2 HP and about to die, sacrifice it with Soul Drain or Dark Offering to extract value before it falls. Then immediately replace it with a fresh summon.
Best Relics
- General's Banner (S) — All minions deal +1 damage. Simple, effective, stacks with Undead Commander.
- Necronomicon (S) — Summoned minions have +2 HP. Makes Skeletons significantly tankier.
- Soul Vessel (A) — Start combat with 2 Souls. Speeds up your Soul economy.
- Blood Chalice (B) — Heal 2 HP whenever you play a Sacrifice card. Good sustain in longer fights.
Run Strategy — Stage by Stage
-
Floors 1-8 (Early Act 1):
Necrobinder's Act 1 is challenging. Take Bone Throw for damage, Raise Dead for a tank. You need at least 2 summon cards before your first elite. Upgrade Raise Dead for a sturdier skeleton.
-
Floors 9-16 (Late Act 1):
Look for Bone Legion and Ghost Form. If offered Undead Commander, take it immediately — it's your build-defining Power. By now you should have 3-4 summon cards.
-
Floors 17-25 (Early Act 2):
The build takes off. Mass Grave is your #1 priority. Dark Offering provides card draw. Your board should be full most turns. This is when the build feels powerful.
-
Floors 26-33 (Late Act 2):
Refine your Soul economy. Soul Harvest and Soul Nova give you a finisher. Remove Strikes — you'll rarely play attacks manually once your minion engine is running.
-
Floors 34-50 (Act 3):
Your board should be permanently full with buffed minions. Save Souls for boss fights. Soul Nova at 8+ Souls destroys anything. The Summon Army build is one of the safest ways to clear Act 3.
Matchup Notes
- vs Gremlin Nob: Hard matchup. Your summon skills trigger his Strength buff. Minimize skill usage and rely on Bone Throw for damage.
- vs Slime Boss: Excellent matchup. Skeletons tank the small slimes after the split. Ghosts chip all of them simultaneously.
- vs Collector: Your Skeletons can taunt his minions. Focus on killing the Collector directly while minions handle defense.
- vs Time Eater: Good matchup. Your minions deal passive damage without using cards, making the 12-card limit less punishing.
